Into the flood
My husband is going to New Orleans tomorrow to salvage archives and artworks. He'll have armed guards. A friend is lending him her snake bite kit.

I process my world both visually and verbally, in equal parts. I have a day job at the American Philosophical Society (APS) Museum where I spend days happily thinking, looking, and writing. The rest of the time I try to make my own art work but am often too tired. I want it all. My visual blog--lots of pics, not much text--used to be called Synaesthetica, but no one could spell it. So now it's called Knitting While Sleeping, which I actually have been observed doing.

Hi Merrill, It's Marie Bardos. I had somehow not expected you to keep up your blog so well! It was fascinating to see the work on your house. I'm responding to this picture just because it is at the end of such a wonderful avalanche of visual delight.
You must be having fun with this, though I imagine it's a lot of work.
I'm not sure which are your pictures and which are others'. I will check in more often, now that I realize you keep it up. A lot of people don't.
